About the Organization

Foundation for Black Health Disparities, Inc. is an incorporated 501(c)3 under the Internal Revenue Service that recognizes that health disparities are not a result of an individual or group but centuries of systemic inequalities. We deliberately set our priorities for joining efforts across the nation in decreasing these gaps through targeting the inequalities in the social determinants of health. We do this through creating initiatives and providing funding support to help increase access to quality education, economic stability, safe neighborhoods, environments, social context, and quality health care.

Our team currently consists of 10 brilliant professionals from various backgrounds that apply a collective intelligence to addressing inequalities that negatively impact health outcomes for black residents. When measuring mortality rates as a result of these inequalities, the most disparate numbers are consistently seen between Black and White Americans for preventable diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, stroke, breast cancer, maternal and infant mortality. Additional details regarding this are available on our website: www.fbhd.org
